Elcor, the largest manufacturer of electrical panels in the Nordics, appoints CEO from Board of Directors

On the 3rd of March, Peter Sørensen takes over as CEO of Elcor with a clear focus on accelerating growth and strengthening innovation.

Peter Sørensen has a solid background in technical services and management and has so far contributed to Elcor’s development as a board member – a role he is now stepping down from to take on the role of CEO.

Throughout his career, Peter Sørensen has played a central role in the development of companies such as OTIS A/S, DYRUP A/S, Nilfisk-Advance A/S and most recently Andersen & Heegaard. His focus has been on optimising operations, creating organic growth and making strategic acquisitions. He now brings this experience to Elcor, where he will build on it through a sharp and targeted effort adapted to the unique opportunities of the market

Elcor is the result of a consolidation that brought together several prominent Nordic players in the electrical panels industry (Tic Elkas, AUTOMATIC SYD, Eegholm, Elcor+, EA Elautomation). Since 2023, the group has been owned by the private equity fund Axcel. With a leading market position and a multidisciplinary foundation, Elcor has created a strong collaboration focused on scalability, innovation and technical expertise to better meet the increasing demands for automation and green transition in a wide range of industries.

Morten Østergaard, Chairman of the Board of Elcor, says:

“Peter has strong capabilities to drive Elcor into the next growth phase. He has gained a deep understanding of the business through his work on the board and has a keen eye for our customers’ needs and strategic market opportunities. With his leadership, we will strengthen our position as an innovative and future-oriented player in the industry.”

With the appointment of Peter Sørensen as CEO, Elcor is setting a direction where innovation and development take centre stage. The industry can therefore expect an even stronger and more agile group that is ready to set new standards.

Peter Sørensen, CEO of Elcor, says:

“Moving from the board to the CEO role provides a unique advantage – I know the group and its potential. Now it’s about maintaining our strong customer-centric approach and working every day to make it even more attractive to do business with us.

The electrification of our society continues to be a crucial parameter. Electrical boards are everywhere, and by boosting innovation and digitalisation, we can make a very positive contribution to the green transition.

Elcor has already acquired several companies. The task of taking the best of all worlds and creating a great company culture is an exciting challenge as a CEO. I’m really looking forward to getting started, meeting all the talented and committed employees and working with our customers, suppliers and other partners.”
